This course will teach the foundations of figure drawing through a variety of short and long poses with a live model. Composition, measuring, proportion, and anatomy will be taught. The course will also focus on a variety of approaches to understanding including line of action, gesture, blocking, line, mass, and direct drawing. Building form will be taught with the use of cross contour, line sensitivity, direction, and an awareness of how light falls on the figure. Materials will be charcoal and conté. All are welcome and individual attention is given.
