This course will teach composition, the importance of thumbnails, three value studies, and color mixing. The course will focus on limited pallets, in particular the Zorn palette, warms and cools, and value scales in relationship to color. Emphasis will be on learning how to simplify shapes, grouping values, and seeing soft and hard edges. Materials and recommended standard resources will be discussed. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged, with individual attention given.
