Launched in 2021, The Fish Market project space has become a creative hub for and by the surrounding community. Its latest program is N. Central Troy Creates.
It is a space where artists and the community can gather, and where the Arts Center can learn about our community’s needs and respond with long-term programming solutions, like N. Central Troy Creates.
LOCATION: The Fish Market building at 2952 6th Ave Troy, NY.
The Fish Market Project repurposed an old storefront (named after the original Fish Market sign, which is still hanging) into an artist space and community center, in North Central Troy.
Participating artists activate the space to engage with the community, create new work, and host specialty events.

“Our community came together on December 10, 2022, for the Sanctuary’s annual Holiday Interfaith Justice and Peace Celebration at Freedom Square. Around an evergreen tree, we lit candles, tied the names of loved ones on branches, and shared our light to set intentions for love, justice, and peace. Before the tree lighting, we shared warm beverages, snacks, and arts and crafts. People voice their wishes for light, justice, and peace, as they reflect on current times and join together with sacred intention, embracing all religions and beliefs.
