HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL

By Chad Kleitsch

Photographer Chad Kleitsch transformed the landmark of The Arts Center with a large-scale installation of scanography: a photography process using a digital computer scanner as a way to rediscover image making. Portraying botanical objects through this technology, Kleitsch evoked elements of biology, illusions of light, and the humanity of each subject.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Chad Kleitsch

Kleitsch began adorning the windows of storefronts and galleries around the Hudson Valley in April 2020 as a means of raising morale during the pandemic. The Art Center’s façade featured Kleitsch’s translucent botanical images to enlighten our part of the Troy riverfront skyline.
